Paris - Philippe Oddou, co-founder and Chief Executive of French nonprofit organization Sport dans la Ville, and Manoelle Lepoutre, Managing Director of Fondation Total and Senior Vice President, Civil Society Engagement at Total, have officially renewed the partnership agreement between Fondation Total and Sport dans la Ville.

Through the new agreement, Fondation Total has become the main partner of Sport dans la Ville and undertaken to provide the organization with €1.7 million in financial assistance over the 2018-2020 period.

This long-term commitment is coupled with a three-part goal for 2024:

  • Providing 12,000 young people with access to a variety of sports programs.
  • Opening some 40 sports centers, thereby doubling the current number of Sport dans la Ville locations.
  • Extending the reach of initiatives carried out by Sport dans la Ville under its “Job dans la Ville” program to offer support and assistance to more young people as they choose a career and enter the workforce.

For 20 years now, Sport dans la Ville has been the leading inclusion-through-sport organization in France. Taken together, its programs facilitate the social inclusion of 6,500 young people each year, actively contributing to their growth and personal development to allow them to acquire the values necessary for their future success in the workforce.

“We are especially honored and proud to be strengthening our partnership with Fondation Total and involving it in the ambitious development project that Sport dans la Ville has envisioned for all the young people it will support through 2024,” said Philippe Oddou, Chief Executive of Sport dans la Ville.

“I am very pleased that Fondation Total has renewed its support for Sport dans la Ville for another several years, building on a committed partnership stretching back nearly a decade,” said Manoelle Lepoutre, Managing Director of Fondation Total and Senior Vice President, Civil Society Engagement at Total. “The organization is renowned for its success in boosting both the personal development and workforce participation of young people. I strongly believe that the values learned in sports have a positive impact on young people in terms of conduct, social skills and self confidence, and help them express their talent. This partnership tangibly demonstrates Total’s attachment to France, its regions and its young people.”
