Long-Term Partnership with Fondation du Patrimoine

Youth, training and regional appeal are key priorities in the initiatives led by French heritage preservation nonprofit Fondation du Patrimoine. Thanks to its projects, several young adults with limited access to employment now tend the flower beds at the Chateau de Fontainebleau outside Paris and 12 trainees are learning traditional masonry techniques while restoring an 18th century windmill in southwestern France.

These initiatives also benefit regularly from the expertise of other nonprofits, such as Acta Vista, which helps unemployed people develop marketable skills by working on heritage projects, and Union Rempart, which brings together people who volunteer on such projects to promote rural development, knowledge transfer and a sense of citizenship.

We have been supporting Fondation du Patrimoine since 2006. In the past 13 years, we have committed more than €26 million to the nonprofit to support more than 200 local or France-wide projects, chosen in particular for their location in Total’s host regions.
