From the Playing Field to the Workplace

Self-confidence, team spirit, perseverance, respect for rules and for others and the drive to push yourself to new heights are just some of the sporting values that translate into the soft skills essential for success in the workplace. For 20 years now, nonprofit organization Sport dans la Ville has been helping young people express their talent in some 40 sports centers at the heart of priority neighborhoods. It also runs programs for assistance with schoolwork and support for entering the workforce.
In late 2018, Total Foundation renewed its partnership with Sport dans la Ville, an alliance that was originally forged in 2010, and will be stepping up its support over the 2018­2020 period. In particular, we are now backing the “Job dans la Ville” program, which is aimed at re-establishing equal opportunity by helping young people aged 14 to 22 into training and employment. It has already had a significant impact, as 82% of the young people involved are now in work or training.
